Carbon Fiber / 2010 / Next Generation
From today our website has been redesigned into a new "Carbon Fiber / 2010 / Next Generation" skin:
We've retained the most of our "old" parts, but we've also added some new pages like references, Q&A, etc.
In a few days we'll be able to offer a Croatian and Swedish translation so stay tuned!
P.S.
A new Firefox AddOn is almost finished and it will be available very soon.

Page Speed, finally: Faster than 51% of sites!
After much of work lately with Page Speed through the whole website, today this message appeared in Google Webmaster Tools:
"On average, pages in your site take 2.9 seconds to load (updated on Feb 15, 2010). This is faster than 51% of sites. These estimates are of high accuracy (more than 1000 data points)."
Yea!

This is a great day for all of us here at Mandomartis and Katakombe! Finally we can announce the release of the Link Page Creator!

Google webmaster guidelines > Design and content guidelines:
1.) Make a site with a clear hierarchy and text links. Every page should be reachable from at least one static text link.
2.) Offer a site map to your users with links that point to the important parts of your site. If the site map is larger than 100 or so links, you may want to break the site map into separate pages.
9.) Keep the links on a given page to a reasonable number (fewer than 100).
Details related to the installation:
- Edit header.txt and footer.txt files to suit your website design
- Edit fileextensions.txt file (one file extension per line i.e. .html, .pdf, etc.)
- Edit robots.txt file or replace it with your original robots.txt
- Run the program
- Upload your new sitemap pages

Windows 7 and Windows XP
You acquired Windows 7 and now have problems with compatibility of software and equipment that you used with Windows XP? No problem - the solution is called VMware Player! VMware Player is actually a virtual machine installed on your hard disc and on it you can continue to use all software and all the equipment you used on Windows XP. Personally, I am satisfied with more than 100% and I can honestly recommend it to all who have the same problem I had. Indeed, one of the best programs that I have installed.

KEI - Keyword Effectiveness Index
Today, we have released a new SEO tool: KEI Calculator.
Before you start building your website you need to know what your customers are seeking on the Internet. There is no reason to focus on phrases that no one seeks or on phrases that you'll have a very strong competition. The key to your success is finding the ratio (KEI) between those terms which are often searched against the less number of pages where they can be found.
With this tool you can calculate which keywords are the best for you. Add, modify and delete an unlimited number of projects, completely free of charge.
The whole process consists of 3 easy steps:
1.) [Searches] - Explore relevant keywords using Google AdWords (Global Monthly Search Volume)
2.) [Results] - Check the current index of documents for each of them in Google
3.) [Keyword] - Choose the keyword that you like and press "Calculate"!

Usage Statistics - Generated by Webalizer
A few years ago I was really surprised when I checked the statistics generated by Webalizer on my server - between the "Referrers" links I saw a whole series of links that led to drugs and adult websites! I just could not believe what I saw because no one ever came from the pages of such content. So from the first moment it was clear that that was some kind of obstruction.
At that time the statistics were publicly available. I realized that that thing primarily damage my reputation and secondly my pages lose PageRank! I sent one email to Google and explained that I don't know how it happened, but I will immediately investigate the whole case. Very shortly, I found that without my knowledge the server was flooded with spam. When I began to analyze more deeply I found that in fact there are a number of "infected" pages on the Internet.
Anyhow, I solved the problem, times have changed and Google has become much smarter :) If you search for Usage Statistics - Generated by Webalizer today, Google will now display only those pages that do not have active links - very clever!
Example (Attention: adult content):

sitemap.xml
More complex websites with some kind of dynamically generated content (pages on the fly) should have a sitemap.xml file. Why? Suppose you have this scenario: On your website you have installed a forum script and say, for some reason you failed to link all pages. On the other side you have the daily discussions of your members, which in this case Google is not able to find and register. Solution to this problem is Google sitemap generator. For his work is necessary to enter the path to the server log file containing all active URL's. Your only task is to properly install the script and run it using CRON daily, weekly, etc. VoilĂ .
